Position Title: Senior Accountant
Pay: 80-85k
Onsite in Saint Paul
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This hands-on leadership role will report directly to the Director of Accounting and will supervise two accounting team members while providing support to accounting operations across US locations. The position emphasizes tax filing, inventory management, expense reconciliation, financial administration, and will serve as backup to the Director of Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and oversight to accounting team members
- In charge of AR and collections
- Serve as backup for the Director of Accounting during absences
- Manage freight-related accounting, including reconciliation of accrued expenses and calculation of broker income, sales commissions, and Rebate Tracking
- Assist with multi-location inventory management, including transfers between locations, monthly reconciliation of raw materials/WIP inventory counts, and coordinating quarterly finished goods counts
- Handle tax compliance including sales and use tax returns for all locations
- Process customer-related financial transactions including sales invoicing for Texas, credit memos, and reviewing/approving customer credits and releasing orders
- Reconcile expenses including credit card transactions, expense reports, prepaid expenses, and asset tracking
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries for accruals, adjusting entries, and related documentation
- Maintain financial records including fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and Raw Material invoices
- Supervise, review, and assist in preparing 1099 forms and Form 1096
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and financial modeling
- Proficiency with accounting software (Business Central experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail with ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Experience in manufacturing, inventory reconciliation, tax filing, and month/year-end closing procedures
- Adaptability to support expanding operations across multiple states
